A Musical Journey (2002-2007)

2002: Richard Wilson and Bruce Gann

Arghh!!!!

Once again, I have had the privelege of doing sessions at Ray Brooks' Crystal Recording Studios with Richard Wilson and Bruce Gann. We went in on February 2, 2002 and recorded perhaps the most (delightfully) unusual song yet called "Red Star." Engineers Ray Brooks and Jonathan Parker were again at the helm. Richard played a marimba with badass descending chromatic scales that I had to match note-for-note on guitar at about 110 bpm. Billy Townsend played great bass and Bruce wailed on vocals. In the future, the product of these sessions will likely be released locally on CD. Stay tuned for information. If you would like to book a session at Crystal (which I highly recommend), you should call Ray at (501) 847-8215. The studio features the Mackie HDR 24/96 Digital Recorder with interface. Call Ray for other details. You will not be disappointed! Check out the pictures below.

The sessions featured: Bruce Gann - Lead and Background Vocals ~ Richard Wilson - Drums, Marimba, and Gong ~ Billy Townsend - bass ~ Jai Lambert - Electric and Acoustic Guitars ~ Jonathan Parker - engineer, wave fixer ~ Ray Brooks - engineer, studio owner
