Hi, my name is Jai Lambert and I am a graphic designer, website developer and strategist, public visibility specialist, copywriter, musician, and gourmet cook. I have over two decades of design, marketing, advertising, and account executive experience. As a guitarist/bassist/keyboardist/songwriter, I am a veteran stage and studio musician whose musical career spans more than four decades from 1973 to present day. I also have a passion for great cooking which I started doing in my father’s kitchen more that 40 years ago.
“Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.”
Vincent Van Gogh
On the music front, I have participated in many unique and original groups including the band REMINISCENCE with the late legendary BROOKS BROWN in the mid to late 70s, and the Hot Springs based power trio KIDZ with CLINT ALLEN, also in the late 70s.
In the early 80s, playing with the progressive-rock group GULFSTREAM, I toured Florida’s east coast and, in 1983, the continental United States and Alaska playing over 300 dates with CLINT ALLEN’S group DIAMOND ROMEO, also featuring BROOKS BROWN. After a short stint with what was to become a phenomenally successful Fort Smith based group DAVID AND THE IMMATURES, I played with the highly original and stylistic group PAPERKID. With the help of producer/engineer BOB KETCHUM, PAPERKID would record over 50 original songs at Ketchum’s CEDAR CREST STUDIO drawing interest from at least 3 major labels, and a tremendous regional presence. In 2009 and again on New Year’s Eve 2015, PAPERKID reuited and played 2 gigs in Fort Smith at Neumeier’s and Landry’s.
Collaborations with songwriter/guitarist JOE HAMILTON in the late 80s and early 90s led to an independent Album release from HAMILTON LAMBERT entitled LETTERS FROM THE EARTH also produced and engineered by BOB KETCHUM which was re-mastered and re-released in 2014. From 1988-92, I played with the popular legendary Little Rock based progressive rock group THE FREDS. From 1992-94, I formed the power trio MEN OF HONOUR with former FREDS drummer CHUCK HORST and the late GARY GRACE, releasing a self-titled album in 1994.
With ACOUSTIC PAGANS, two separate stints with multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter JIM PAGAN produced a CD entitled IT’S ABOUT TIME released in 2003. ACOUSTIC PAGANS reunited in 2013 playing at the Clinton Center with JACK PRITCHETT on drums and JAY BRUNO on bass.
I also played with beloved Arkansas artists/groups THE GROANUPS, THE TAPAS, BRYAN FRAZIER, and BROTHERS WITH DIFFERENT MOTHERS, which has since reuited and played gigs on several occassions, and the power trio SHIPP, featuring songwriter/guitarist/singer MICHAEL SHIPP and drummer RICHARD WILSON.
Throughout my career, I have shared the stage with/opened for BRAD GILLIS/NIGHTRANGER, CHEAP TRICK, FOGHAT, THE OUTLAWS, EDDIE MONEY, THE ROMANTICS, ADRIAN LEGG, RICK DERRINGER, NORTH MISSISSIPPI ALLSTARS, THE FABULOUS THUNDERBIRDS, THE MEAT PUPPETS, LITTLE FEAT, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, AMERICA, HADDEN SAYERS, and 38 SPECIAL.
Currently, I play with ROCK CANDY featuring veteran musicians BRUCE GANN, KENNY REYNOLDS, DAVID CRAFT, and RICHARD WILSON, and with BROTHERS WITH DIFFERENT MOTHERS featuring veteran musicians DAN WAYMACK, ANDY GRIEBEL, JEFF WOODWARD, FRANK COX, AND BJ DAVIS.
